What does a counselor actually do?
- Help you set and reach your academic goals
- Guide your college, career, and after-graduation planning
- Give you personal and social-emotional support
- Connect you with helpful resources and opportunities
- Work with your family and teachers so you succeed
What you tell us stays with us.
Your privacy matters to us. What you tell a counselor stays between you and that counselor.
We are required to share what you tell us in four situations:
- You reveal information about harming yourself
- You reveal information about harming others
- You are being physically, emotionally, or sexually abused
- We are required to share by law or by a court order
Outside of those four situations, what you say in our office stays in our office.
